We are providing high-quality Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). IPA is a colorless, flammable liquid with a sharp, musty odor that’s used in many products and processes. Isopropyl alcohol, commonly referred to as Isopropanol, n-propanol, or dimethylcarbinol, is a colorless and flammable liquid with the formula C3H8O. Isopropyl alcohol is widely employed in solvent applications. IPA is used in many products, including rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizers, cosmetics, skin and hair products, perfumes, pharmaceuticals, lacquers, dyes, cleaners, and antifreezes. It’s also used as a solvent, reagent, and disinfectant.

IPA is miscible with water or ethanol and mixes well with other solvents to form a potent cleaning solution. It has a flash point of 53°F, a boiling point of 180.5°F, and a vapor density that’s heavier than air. This organic compound is miscible in liquids like ether, ethanol, water, and chloroform. It serves as a solvent for chemicals like polyvinyl butyral, ethylcellulose, many oils, gums, alkaloids, and naturally occurring resins. On the other hand, isopropyl alcohol, unlike methanol and ethanol, is not miscible with salt solutions. This compound can be separated from aqueous solutions by the addition of salts like sodium chloride. This process of separating out the isopropyl alcohol is called salting out. This makes the isopropyl alcohol form a different layer in the solution, which can be separated out. With water, isopropyl alcohol forms an azeotropic mixture. This azeotropic mixture has a boiling point of 80.37°C. This mixture holds a composition of 87.7% by weight of isopropyl alcohol, which is 91% by volume of isopropyl alcohol. This mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol possesses depressed melting points. The mixture has a bitter taste and is unsafe for drinking. Isopropyl alcohol shows a rapid increase in its viscosity with the decrease in temperature. The freezing point of the compound is -89°C. The absorbance of isopropyl alcohol can attain a maximum value of 205nm in an ultraviolet-visible spectrum.

IPA is a dangerous fire hazard. Inhaling IPA can irritate the nose and throat, and repeated exposure can cause headaches, dizziness, confusion, loss of coordination, unconsciousness, and even death. Ingestion or inhalation of vapors can cause intoxication, especially in infants.
